The Affordability Fund Program
To participate in the program the applicant should be a resident of
Ontario, residing in a separately metered premise (single, detached, row
home and multi residential apartments etc.) serviced by a local distributions
company. The applicant should be residing at a minimum 6 consecutive months in
the premise and it should be their primary residence.
People that would not be eligible to participate in the Affordability Fund
Program are people who are eligible for other income tested programs including:
Home Assistance Program (HAP), Low-Income Energy Assistance Program
(LEAP), Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP), Ontario Disability
Support Program (ODSP) and similar kinds of programs.
The tenants would have to apply individually, and the hydro bill would
have to be in their name, coming from Toronto Hydro. If the tenants are
low income, they will not be eligible for our program, but rather the Home
Assistance Program. Their phone number is 1-866-587-6527.
If applying, it can be done over the phone at 1-855-494-3863, or online at
www.affordabilityfund.org. Please ensure they have the total income for
2018 and the hydro bill when you call.
